As part of the development of permanent facilities, Electroson Studio was selected by the City of Cavaillon to realize in the heart of the city center 3 permanent video projection installations.
Inaugurated at the beginning of December 2022 as part of the Christmas illuminations Once upon a time… Christmas in Cavaillon, these 3 installations aim to make the inhabitants and tourists rediscover the emblematic facades of the city, through video loops and a 5-minute Christmas media, on the facade of the Avignon Gate, as well as the main facade and the side facade ofCavaillon's Hotel Dieu.
Technically
Answering to weight and size constraints asked by the client's technical services, each of the 3 installations had to be as compact, lightweight and invisible as possible.
Thus, the choice fell on a video projector Epson EB-PU2010B 10,000 lumens of the new compact range by Epson, on which the deformation and inclination adjustments have been fully made.
The installation is controlled by a media server BrightSign HD224 which very ergonomically manages the media launch as well as theextinction and thepower management of the videoprojector via network using PJLink.
The equipment is integrated in a Tempest Blizzard, the most compact case offered by Tempest. This is ventilated and heated, thus making it possible to maintain an ideal temperature and a hygrometry adapted to the criteria of the video projector.
Each facility is very easy to control on site in Wireless in order to update the media, modify the schedule of the projections, and control the statuses of the video projector and the media server.
Thanks to the training that we were able to offer, the teams of the communication department of the City of Cavaillon are totally independent for updating media server content and modifying the broadcast schedule.
In addition, we have provided the technical services with the various indications allowing them to carry out the regular maintenance equipment according to the recommendations of the manufacturers, in order to guarantee the proper functioning of the equipment. Very simple, this one consists mainly in the maintenance of the filters of the video projectors and the boxes.
artistically
Each of the 3 places broadcasts a video loop between 1 minute and 1 minute 30 seconds.
On the facade of the Avignon Gate and on the main facade of theHospital, the loop takes up the elements of architecture, with work on textures in soft colors, integrating elements of the city's heritage.
On the side facade of theHospital, the city wanted a more dynamic artistic approach. Due to its excellent direct visibility and its architecture, this façade is also used to project more seasonal media, as is the case this year with the 5-minute Christmas media. It is also used to display the messages of the City, such as presenting the Wishes, or to display a program of the festivities of the City.
